Before and after! A fast demolition for this central building in Wellington. We brought it down in 3 days, with 100% of the steel was recycled, 100% of the metals recycled and 90% of the native timber was salvaged ready to be repurposed. #fastprogress 👨‍🔧💥
Work is well underway at our new site on Owen Street, Newtown. We are currently undertaking site works, when finished the site will be handed over for the construction of new accommodation, more updates coming soon! 💥

Jim Millar is one of our lead construction site managers, he is currently based at our Whites Line East, Housing New Zealand project, where the construction of twenty, one bedroom apartments is underway. I stole a moment of Jim's time so we can understand the real magic of his trade. Q) Our Whites Line East project started in the first of December 2018, why are these units important? A) "They are fulfilling a real need and purpose for the community, for example, a 4 bedroom home suits a family, but there's a need for smaller suited homes for elderly individuals and couples in our community." Q) What's your favorite part of running this site so far? A) For me, it's watching my planning of the progress become a reality. Watching it come to life as the guys and I work through each stage, Its an awesome feeling. Q) What are the day to day tasks of your job? A) I have a lot of contact with architects, the engineer, and our Housing New Zealand clients. Processing audits and forms, I'm a good problem solver, I look ahead of things before they become issues so that the guys can keep on going. I am always going over our health and safety on our site, I make sure that subcontractors and other visitors understand our systems and safety plans. I list it up there as one of the key aspects of running a successful job. Q) what do you do In your spare time? A) I am a chairman for the Wainuiomata rugby club, I also work with a leadership club in Petone where we lead 200 kids through workshops every February and March. We're successful because of our hardworking team, People like Jim, behind and on the job. Watch this space as we introduce you to more stories of our crew leading the way.
